Presenter Roundtable Discussion
We will hear from Lavanya Rajagopalan from Silambam Houston about her journey in securing an NEA grant for the last two years, followed by a discussion. Other volunteers to share experiences are welcome. Our last discussion was an excellent start to connecting the community and sharing ideas/challenges with each other. Storytelling for a Modern Audience
We will be speaking with Mentor Artist, Malini Srinivasan. Malini, an acclaimed Bharatha Natyam dancer, choreographer, and educator, has been navigating contemporary audiences for years. Apart from digging into Malini's journey, we will also speak with her about how she crafts her storytelling such that she better connects with audiences today. If you're a dancer or dance educator of any genre in the Indian classical pantheon, this is sure to be an enlightening interview that may give you greater conviction on how you approach storytelling or even cause you to change it. Join us for a brief conversation with Mentor Artist, Dr. Rohan Krishnamurthy, Carnatic percussionist and educator from the Bay Area. Rohan will discuss his journey as an artist, focusing on his creative process particularly with his trio, The Alaya Project, which combines Carnatic music with elements of Jazz and Funk. We will be celebrating The Alaya Project's 50th show, which is upcoming on November 10th at SF Jazz.

Emerging artists from around the country gathered to hear Sree Srinivasan, an NYC-based expert in digital communications lead them through strategies of telling their own authentic story on various social media platforms. Sree is CEO and Co-founder of Digimentors, a social/digital/AI training and consulting company. He served as Chief Digital Officer of New York City, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Columbia University, where he was also a full-time professor of journalism for over 20 years.
